"Make a Difference Day" Campaign Helps Hundreds of Additional DDS Patients
At the end of October, Donated Dental Services (DDS) invited its volunteers to join millions of Americans in participating in "Make a Difference Day," a national day of service. We asked them to treat one additional DDS patient over the next 12 months. The initial response was impressive: In less than 24 hours, we received 91 pledges! Despite a technical difficulty, the overall results were terrific:
-
101 people made pledges (Illinois had by far the largest response with 16 dentists making pledges)
-
Those people originally planned to see 151 DDS patients; through the campaign they have pledged to see 285 DDS patients. That's an increase of 134 patients!
-
The value of care that would have been delivered to 151 patients is estimated at $435,000; the amount of pledged care to be delivered to 285 patients is $855,000. That's an increase of $402,000 in the next 12 months!
Due to a technical problem, the Make a Difference link was broken for most of the event week. If you were unable to make a pledge and would like to do so now, please click here. For more information about DDS's Make a Difference Day campaign, click here.
