Ms. W. is 59 years old and resides in an assisted living facility in Denver, CO. She suffers from osteoporosis and arthritis, these ailments have been compounded by a stroke she suffered 4 years ago. She still can get around pretty well, albeit a little slower than she used to. In addition to osteoporosis , Ms. W. suffers from chronic lung disease. She was very excited to here about the possibility of being accepted into Donated Dental Services (DDS).
Upon examination Dr. B determined that several teeth needed to be extracted, so DDS coordinator, Robert Saldana, enlisted the help of an oral surgeon, who was able to extract tooth #'s 20, 23, 26, and 30. A maxillary alveloplastry was done in the #14 area to remove a small bony area. Ms. W. was so happy to have her smile back to normal she baked Dr. B a batch of special home made cookies. YUM!
