DDS Volunteers "Make a Difference"
Donated Dental Services (DDS) volunteers are joining millions of Americans across the country, who will participate in "Make a Difference Day." On or around Saturday, October 24, people from all walks of life will be doing volunteer projects to improve their communities and help neighbors in need. In the spirit of Make a Difference Day, NFDH is asking its already generous DDS volunteers to make a pledge -- a pledge to treat one additional DDS patient over the next 12 months.
Today, more than 16,000 vulnerable people nationwide -- disabled, elderly or medically compromised individuals who cannot afford necessary dental treatment -- are waiting for care from DDS volunteers. If each volunteer pledges to see one additional patient, thousands more deserving people could receive care in the next year. Without a doubt, the increase in care delivered would truly Make a Difference.
Make a Difference Day is sponsored by USA WEEKEND Magazine and its 600 carrier newspapers. It is the largest community service effort in the nation, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action on one day. On the last Make a Difference Day, a record 3 million volunteers participated and an estimated 28 million people-in-need benefited.
