Mr. B is a young man who is permanently disabled from a serious automobile accident that claimed the life of his mother and his sister.  Mr. B. remained in a coma for ten months and was rendered a quadriplegic in addition to such traumatic brain injury. Medicaid would not cover the replacement of several front teeth Mr. B. was missing and he was limited to eating pureed foods.

With great thanks and relief, the social worker working with Mr. B. sent the letter below to the DDS coordinator who handled the case.

“I wanted to take the time to thank you for your involvement with Mr. B.  Your diligence and patience in finding a dentist that would donate their services for this young man is commendable and has given him back his smile.

Very often we hear about organizations who’s mission it is to help the handicapped.  The process can be complicated and require a great deal of paperwork.  These referrals can be disappointing because some criteria or other is not met or there are not sufficient professionals to provide the services.  In the case of Mr. B., you were an integral part of making this happen.

Thank you on behalf of Mr. B., his family and his Medical Home.  This program has restored our faith in programs such as yours.”
