Ms. K. & Dr. H.

catherine_kruczek_volunteer_dental_case_coloradoA terrible fire in 1985 left Ms. K. with burns over more than 46% of her body.  On that tragic day she lost most of the mobility in her arms as they are both frozen at a 45 degree angle, and the fingers on one of her hands had to be amputated.  Unable to work and barely able to live on her limited Social Security Disability checks, she had no money to pay for dental treatment.  This lack of treatment caused extensive dental disease and Ms. K. was in a great deal of pain.  She turned to Donated Dental Services (DDS) for the dental care she so desperately needed but could not afford.

Dr. H., a DDS volunteer dentist, read Ms. K.’s profile and generously agreed to help by donating his services.  In addition, a DDS volunteer lab donated all of the fabrications necessary to help Ms. K. smile again.

Ms. K.’s life was changed through the kindness and compassion of DDS volunteers.  Dr. H. and the lab received boundless appreciation of their patient through smiles and tears; the big, beautiful smile showing her pearly whites explains her graciousness with no words necessary!
