The DDS Coordinator:Day-to-day services are managed by a DDS Referral Coordinator whose responsibilities include determining eligibility of applicants, referring patients to nearby volunteer dentists, monitoring each patient’s progress, and arranging laboratory services and specialists. Resolving problems that may interfere with care are a prime responsibility of the Coordinator. The Coordinator works closely with both DDS volunteers and social service agencies. The Coordinator will call or write the general dentists office to begin the referral process; when s/he does so, the patient will have already been determined eligible for DDS services. Coordinators are the liaison between dentists, labs and patients and can be contacted at any point in the process for questions and concerns. |
